Message from the President

My name is Robert James Hobson (Bob), and I am the president of Service Plus International Inc. I have been in the Customs Brokerage business since I left High School back on the beautiful island of St. Kitts in the British West Indies. My experience working back home in the Caribbean at Delisle Walwyn and Co. Ltd and Frank B. Armstrong has been my most valuable lesson learned from the Customs Brokerage industry. This experience has affected my life in a very profound and positive way.

It's quite amazing to see how much the industry has changed. I moved to Canada in 1974 and have been a musician and a Customs Broker since 1975. After falling victim to corporate restructuring and a layoff from a company where I was the Branch Manager I formed Service Plus International Trade Shows in May of 1995. Throughout my career, I’ve always felt that there was a tremendous need for a global Customs Brokerage service specializing in international trade shows and freight logistics, a company that is committed to providing a competitive, first rate quality service to their customers.

Since September 11, 2001, the customs brokerage industry has not been the same. Now more than ever, it’s extremely important for all companies, large or small, to have partnerships locally and around the globe. These alliances are crucial to the longevity, and trustworthy practices of our business. Proper documentation that coincides with Customs rules and regulations at all global clearance ports is critical and must be taken seriously. It’s imperative that our customers are never placed in a situation where they can be penalized through various governmental programs due to missed information. We at Service Plus International Trade Shows, will do everything within our power to ensure that this never happens to our customers. You have my word on that!
